BETH: I felt like if this trip went well, somehow, it would change my regard within the family, with my father...

MARK: 「I'm just humouring your dad, trying to find stuff in common with him, y'know.」

WILLIAM: 「You see, orgone is connected to your sense and, and reality, of vigour...」

Ah, this was a sneaky sneaky piece, that does a good job first getting you into the experience of an awkward meet-your-partner's-parent weekend with clearly built characters, and then flipping the genre on you essentially two more times. This easily could have flattened to a one-layer high-concept scare, but ends up more like a Robert Aickman or Oliver Onions piece to keep teasing at you even after it reveals its inevitable trajectory.

I highlighted this piece as a favorite in my Videotome article (part 1!) in ChoiceBeat #15:
https://choicebeat.wordpress.com/issues-2/

This game was interesting. The idea of being replaced by a being of pure energy and living off of you like a parasite is uneasy to think about. The swaps to different characters also gives the story not only more meaning, but opens up more problems on what we have.

I really loved this, thank you! I've been looking for mediums other than written word on a pdf for a while, and I really like this direction.

Dinner Party Suspense tasty. I pooped out some fanfic while reading. It decays here.

[Fanfiction]

On the drive into the country, a disc change...

Beth: should we pull over for petrol?

* [Yeah, sounds smart](@doodle)

* [No, cheaper further out](@arrival)

@doodle:
Beth and Mark have switch off after filling up on gas. Mark, doodling in the passenger seat.

Beth: "can I see?"

Mark: "Almost done."

He puts on some flourishes, as though wind composed him.

Mark: "What do you think?"

He shows me the prescription brand memo pad. In a neat, all caps I steal glaces at the words:

"cosmic woopie cushion"

* Inhale, rising stand into T pose
* bring one hand into a fist, the other open palm

* squeeze one hand while letting go with the other

* make whatever noise feels right

a crude möbius is drawn in sweeps from the figures outstretched hand.

For a moment, in his smile, I can feel the edges of him that dissolve into myriad noises I can make out is his. Even still, I don't know exactly when I shifted my attention back onto the road.

What looks like onions and a weathered-looking gnome....

oh man.. the pov switches... the mundanesness of it all until it fucking hits you with the extra creepiness.... and then both endings.... the difference...... just damn... really fucking good shit

also... i gotta admit.. that whole "but do i flush so early in the morning?" is so fucking real

this was so awesome!

Great sense of place and lovely specific observations, really washed over me

would you fuck your orgone clone

really cool and freaky!!! loved it. FYI there seems to be some issue - the audio glitches sometimes and loops only a few seconds, or loops at different lengths. I noticed it in most of the sections.
